In the heart of Mohair country, surrounded by the Baviaanskloof mountains in the Karoo stands a little airport. The runway is of smooth gravel and here sets the scene for one of the most successful and unusual trial. Lots of hard work was done by Billy Colbourne ans Wimpie Schoeman to make it such. The highlight of this trial is that the stock used are Angora goats and kids. They behave very well if the pressure from the dogs is just right. Too much and they run, too little they stand. Any tight flanks and the lines are very haphazard.
The trial was run in freezing rain on the 1st day, but the 2nd day was a brisk sunny winter's day. Lots of interested spectators to cheer us on, whilst judges Hennie Ferreira and Henry van der Merwe kept their sharp eyes on the dogs.
