Trial Details

13-14 Aug 2011 'Hakboslaagte', COLIGNY
This trial is the last of the Dog of Year trials. Our hosts, Christoph and Senta Shulenburg made us all feel welcome and their organisation was faultless. Once again, as with all the Dog of Year trials in 2011, proudly sponsored by Montego Feed. Joining this prestigious sponsor were Virbac, Molatek, Bayer, NWK Landmark, and Cipla Agrimed. All prizewinners went home laden and with wide smiles. Judges Mark Trollip and Hennie Ferreira gave of their time and expertise. The Lanskape gave the dogs a good test. The First day was marred by a gale force wind making it very difficult for dogs to hear, but this was better the second day.

The trial field was a new one for handlers. Flat but sheep were visible had they not blended in the dry grass! There were a few surprises in the prizes. The dogs had to keep a balance of not too close but close enough to the sheep. We all look forward to next year!
