Trial Details

Judge : We were priviledged to have ANGIE DRISCOLL from WALES as the judge.  Angie spent lots of time in giving one on one training sessions before the trial. This showed handlers her training methods which was well received. Hopefully, the new ideas will show improvement in the handling of some dogs. One can not emphasize enough the importance of straight lines which get the better scores. This writer needs the eyes scored!  The venue was at "Borderbrook" as 2010. Unfortunately Saturday saw waves of rain throughout the day which brought a dampener (literally) on the public participation - Gautengers are not known to be as brave as our Cape contingency iro rain! But Sunday saw the skies clear and a typical Highveld Autumn day. The Gauteng crowd then flocked to the trial giving it a jovial feeling. The field is in a bowl shape making the acoustics great for the dog.  Sheep were Letelle Merinos which moved easily for the dogs, but were a challenge at the pen. The sheep for Seniors and Top Dogs were relatively new to the farm, newly shorn and a real challenge - A good feel for reading the stock (AND STRAIGHT LINES) made for the place winners. WELL DONE to them. A good well planned trial by all club members. Great food prizes from MONTEGO dog food. Montego has sponsored all trials for 2011 and their generosity has made the planning possible.

REMEMBER THE SA CHAMPS WILL BE HELD AT THE SAME VENUE 29/30 SEPTEMBER - 1/2 OCTOBER. COME JOIN US FOR SASDA'S 50TH! A BUMPER SA CHAMPS IS PLANNED!!!
